Welcome to Svetoslav Spasov's personal website with wildlife and nature photography. Probably you are curious to know why the site is called "Merops". Many birdwatchers know that Merops is the genus name of one of the most colourful and lovely European bird - the Bee-eater. This fascinating bird is one of my favourite and it is still quite common in Bulgarian countryside, where most of the pictures featured in this website are taken. I hope that looking at my photos, you will be able to feel at least some of the excitement and delight I felt while taking them.
